Ceramics is a mimetic medium that can be utilized for the creation of both functional and sculptural objects. At Hunter, students will learn both traditional techniques of creating while also incorporating a conceptual framework within the expanded field. The area itself comprises 5 different studio classrooms that span over 4,513 square feet. Outside of classes, enrolled students have access to our handbulidng, wheel throwing, and glaze application studios. Our studio equipment includes: pottery wheels, slab rollers, extruders, a spray booth, electric barrel kilns, and electric oval kilns.
